Argos has loads of different models to choose from, however the black ‘Siena’ model from Argos has a leather-effect and is priced under £400. As far as cheap sofa beds go this isn’t one of the lowest price models available, but for a stylish-looking black leather one it’s actually quite reasonable. Aesthetically the two seater looks great and due to its modest size would fit in pretty much any room. Its cushions are filled with either foam or fibre, and provides a very comfortable everyday seating area. Although the foam may compress over time, I would be happy using this as a regular couch. In terms of sleeping arrangements however, it is perhaps better suited to occasional use – however this is a common feature of nearly all sofa beds available.
A major plus point for this sofabed (in addition to the leather covering) is the metal action fold-out frame. These are the most comfortable and durable of sofa beds, as you are raised off the floor and a sprung mattress is used instead of a standard wooden frame or foam cushion. The black leather does look really smart, and would fit in nicely to a modern interior.
Leather Clic Clac Sofa Bed – ‘Floyd’ from Argos
The ‘Floyd’ leather-effect sofa bed is available quite cheaply at the minute due to a half-price offer. The original price is £560 however it is currently on special offer for just shy of £230. I could be wrong, but considering the special offer price, this could actually be one of the cheapest leather sofa beds out there. It has a very contemporary design that would fit into a minimalist or ultra-modern home. It’s quite a unique design as the back simply folds up when not in use as a bed, easily creating a comfortable sofa in less than 30 seconds. The gap between the seat base and the back cushions adds to the unique appeal, and I particularly like this sofabed in the chestnut colour as pictured. Other colours of leather are available, such as black or chocolate, however my favourite is the chestnut.
To convert it from a sofa into a bed is really simple, you just release the back of the sofa and this then is laid flat forming the bed area. This then makes a comfortable albeit somewhat small bed for your guests to sleep on. There aren’t many sofa beds out there that are actually categorised as being suitable for everyday use as a bed, however this one is. Again this one has the benefits over a futon of being raised off the floor, and having a thick mattress (which area the seat cushions really) to sleep on.
In terms of cost, as I mentioned before this cheap leather sofa bed is currently on offer from Argos, and you can grab it for just £230!
